Responsibilities
- Receive, label and safely store chemicals and reagents in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform daily verification/calibration of equipment such as pH meter, balances, and Karl Fischer.
- Ensure lab supplies are sufficiently stocked and within expiry.
- Perform weekly chemical inventory on all reference standards and reagents.
- Maintain and review equipment logs for accuracy and completion.
- Complete daily glassware cleaning and contribute to the cleanliness of the laboratory and workspaces.
- Prepare simple mobile phases and test when requested.
- Perform basic chemistry testing in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field; relevant laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 1- 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an analytical testing environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as pH meter and balances.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work, with a commitment to quality and precision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to follow established protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines in laboratory operations.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; fluent in English (oral and written).
- Integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude in all aspects of work.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset, willing to learn from others, and able to work effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and waste management practices.
