Laboratory Technician

About the role

Eurofins Built Environment Testing is proactively seeking a Laboratory Technician to temporarily join our Naperville site. This position will be offered as a temporary position that will support the laboratory processing samples from July-December.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses
• Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of lab equipment
• Isolate and make cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms
• Document all data and results in specified forms
• Conduct microbial analyses of samples collected from various sources
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines
• Prepare specimens and samples for testing
• Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards
• Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: AS or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
• Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in transferable laboratory setting
• Hands-on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
• Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques
• Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Pay

• Starting Range for position is $18.00/hr- $22.00/hr based on experience

Schedule

• The position is scheduled Monday - Friday 10 AM- 7 PM, with OT as needed.

• The position is located at the Naperville, IL Laboratory Site and will require onsite attendance daily.
