Laboratory Technician

About the Role

In this role, you will primarily focus on performing established wet-laboratory assay protocols, recording data, and contributing to the analytical qualification of new assays. This position requires hands-on work within a BSL-2+ laboratory environment handling potentially infectious samples. As such, successful applicants will be required to demonstrate their ability to maintain safe laboratory working conditions and adhere to required PPE and biosafety procedures. Successful applicants will also be able to demonstrate their ability to follow laboratory SOPs while working within a compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform established wet-laboratory assay protocols
• Record and manage laboratory data
• Contribute to the analytical qualification of new assays
• Maintain safe laboratory working conditions in a BSL-2+ environment
• Adhere to required PPE and biosafety procedures
• Follow laboratory SOPs in a compliance-driven environment

Skills

• Proficient pipetting skills
• Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques, such as nucleic acid isolation and PCR
• Hands-on experience in aseptic handling of primary cells or cell lines
• Motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to learn and execute new laboratory techniques
• Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed laboratory notes and documentation
• MS Office proficiency

Requirements

• BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology or related field; OR
• AS in Biology or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience
