Laboratory Technician

About the role

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Laboratory Technician, you will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world, supporting R&D laboratory with product testing and making an impact through curiosity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, schedule, prepare samples, and conduct tests in alignment with the R&D team.
• Test or make visual observations on product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
• Assist in the development and modification of test methods and apparatus for new products and processes.
• Assist and train new personnel on basic principles, equipment, and procedures in laboratories.
• Lead laboratory asset management, equipment compliance, and calibration, including inspection, checks, and record keeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Minimum of five (5) years of technician experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Qualifications

• Experience working in a 3M laboratory.
• Experience conducting test methods for adhesion, shear strength, holding power, 5-bond, tensile & elongation, and others as required.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proven ability to analyze, problem-solve, and implement solutions.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and results-driven.
• Solid hands-on mechanical skillset with knowledge of automated systems.
• Self-starter who takes initiative in their work.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $82,540 - $100,883, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
