Laboratory Technician Assistant 2 PSC

Responsibilities

• Managing specimen preparation, storage, and transport according to lab protocols to ensure specimen integrity and quality.
• Effective communication and cooperation with coworkers, physicians, staff, and leadership to optimize performance and foster relationships.
• Performing patient registration, billing, and test ordering accurately to ensure proper testing, reporting, billing, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensuring proper, timely specimen collection and accurate labeling to guarantee accurate patient results.
• Providing excellent customer service using AIDET principles and ensuring technical information is correct.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, with completion of Phlebotomy or related Allied Health training, certified by a recognized program.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Patient Service Center or 6 months within an Inova facility, or successful completion of Inova Phlebotomy School.
• Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.

Skills

• Knowledge of specialty tests ordered by physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Phlebotomy expertise.
