Responsibilities
- Oversight of day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow and organization
- Maintenance of laboratory inventory, ordering supplies, and managing vendor relationships
- Coordination of equipment maintenance, service contracts, and repairs
- Management of shared equipment scheduling and optimization of lab space utilization
- Ensuring overall lab organization and readiness for ongoing research activities
- Establishment and maintenance of standardized workflows, protocols, and documentation practices
- Consistency in sample labeling, storage, and record-keeping
- Monitoring of lab processes to maintain organization and operational efficiency
- Identification and addressing of operational gaps to improve workflow and productivity
- Ensuring adherence to institutional biosafety, chemical safety, and regulatory guidelines
- Maintenance of safety records, training documentation, and compliance requirements
- Proper handling and storage of biological samples and reagents
- Management and maintenance of lab-related protocols (e.g., IBC, IRB, ESCRO as applicable)
- Proactive tracking of protocol timelines and coordination of submissions to ensure uninterrupted compliance
- Serving as a point of contact for lab operations and administrative coordination
- Supporting a structured, organized, and collaborative lab environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field, or combination of education and relevant clinical laboratory experience
- 3+ years experience in laboratory setting (academic). Supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with research compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., IBC, IRB) preferred.
- Experience managing laboratory operations in an academic or translational research setting preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
