Responsibilities

• Perform method validations and ongoing method assessments.
• Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
• Affirms quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
• Ensures staff compliance with regulatory and departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.
• Establishes policies, procedures, and protocols for testing performed in a defined laboratory section(s).
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

• Education and Certification Requirements: Bachelors (Required), Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).

Qualifications

Five (5) years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the area of supervision.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation. Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Advanced knowledge of laboratory information systems. Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
