Responsibilities
- Aiding in the operations of the HVAC Engineering Technology (HET) department
- Setting up, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment
- Working alongside students
- Assisting with the preparation of academic labs
- Undertaking other duties as needed
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience OR an Associate’s Degree in HVAC, Maintenance, or a related field
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, and over 50 lbs. on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to continuously walk, sit, or stand; frequently bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist; and work on lifts or ladders, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks
- Ability to exercise judgment
- Ability to travel
- Flexibility to shift schedule to work evenings to accommodate students and instructors in the lab
- Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
Skills
- Reading technical manuals in English
- Effectively communicating with equipment technicians
