Laboratory Scientist

About the Role

Oversee day-shift laboratory operations, perform and validate complex assays, troubleshoot instruments, monitor quality control, and ensure regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, JC). Coordinate workflow, mentor staff, assist with scheduling and training, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to interpret and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations during the day shift
• Perform and validate complex diagnostic assays
• Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
• Monitor and maintain quality control standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, JC)
• Coordinate workflow and assist with staff scheduling
• Mentor and train laboratory staff
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to interpret and communicate test results
• Promote teamwork and inclusivity within the laboratory
• Support continuous improvement in patient safety and outcomes
