Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret a wide range of laboratory tests, from simple blood analyses to complex diagnostic procedures.
- Operate and maintain advanced electronic and diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure quality control and assist physicians in test selection.
- Escalate abnormal results and stay informed on field developments through literature and seminars.
- Maintain safety and proper storage of hazardous materials.
- Support proficiency testing programs.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- No prior experience required.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with electronic equipment.
- Ability to interpret test results.
- Effective communication with healthcare providers.
Certifications
- Required professional licenses include Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or specialized technologist licenses, depending on the state.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, walking, and repetitive movements.
- High visual, auditory, and manual dexterity.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and climbing.
Schedule
Weekend shifts, 24 hours per week.
