Laboratory Scientist

About the Role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is responsible for accurately and efficiently reporting high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. This role involves performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties, including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting. The MLS collaborates with acute-care and outpatient caregivers and laboratory staff to ensure quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited program or in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Certification upon hire from recognized bodies such as ASCP or AMT.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical setting.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in moderate/high complexity laboratories.
