Laboratory/Pathologists Assistant/Pathology Technician

Job Accountabilities

• Receive, verify, and accession specimens according to department policies.
• Process specimens for testing, interpretation, and submission to other laboratories.
• Perform accurate data entry throughout testing and reporting processes.
• Maintain equipment and facilities; prepare and stock supplies and reagents.
• Conduct gross dissection and description of pathology specimens.
• Auxiliary duties include assisting with intra-procedural consultations, including gross examinations and frozen sectioning.
• Perform all aspects of post-mortem examinations and ancillary processes.
• Manage pathology materials, including storage, retrieval, and disposal.
• Audit accessioning and coding, providing feedback for improvement.
• Troubleshoot problems and report findings to laboratory leadership.
• Participate in compliance efforts and validation of new testing methodologies.
• Complete quality control processes with appropriate documentation.
• Support the laboratory in other functions within the scope of regulation, training, and practice.
