Responsibilities
- Procurement & Inventory: Collect and organize purchasing and vendor data to analyze trends. Coordinate with the Columbia Procurement Office on specialty equipment requests and contract reviews.
- Facilities & Space Management: Track and escalate infrastructure or maintenance issues to Columbia Facilities. Support lab move coordination and maintain research space databases.
- Operational Support: Manage day-to-day research support programs, including emergency backup freezer monitoring. Maintain electronic resource catalogs.
- Lifecycle Management: Facilitate faculty onboarding and offboarding related to lab readiness, equipment, and space. Serve as a resource to resolve operational issues. Ensure compliance with safety and operational policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years of related experience.
- Experience supporting laboratory operations and research environments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and judgment, with the ability to act as a liaison between faculty, administration, and central services.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
