Laboratory Manager

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the operations of a smaller Midwood Laboratory, which includes departments such as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, and histology.

This role is pivotal in managing a 20-person team across three shifts, focusing primarily on chemistry and hematology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the entire laboratory under the direction of the Laboratory Director.
• Manage and supervise a team of 20 full-time employees, ensuring the smooth execution of testing and quality assurance activities in the chemistry and hematology programs.
• Perform day-to-day management tasks, including troubleshooting, revising, and updating lab policies.
• Ensure compliance with technical skill requirements in point of care testing and clinical laboratory functions.
• Facilitate inspections and manage the laboratory's response to any necessary improvements.

Requirements

• Current NYS Clinical Technologist licensure.
• 3-5+ years of experience working as a Lab Manager or supervisor in a core laboratory setting, specifically in chemistry and hematology.
• Proven experience in supervising staff, conducting inspections, and managing daily operations.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred but not required.
• Experience managing or overseeing an entire laboratory.
• Background in medical technology and laboratory management.

Schedule

This role operates strictly during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with shifts from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. There are no night or weekend shifts.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year.
