Laboratory - Histo Tech

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle specimens for testing, including embedding, cutting, staining, and evaluating histological procedures.
• Manage specimen records and prepare slides for routine, special, and immunoperoxidase stains.
• Assist with frozen sections and gross pathology.
• Participate in quality assurance, supply management, and safety protocols.
• Maintain equipment, prepare solutions, and ensure proper storage of chemicals.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to operate histology equipment (processors, microtomes, stainers).
• Perform accurate record-keeping and follow safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication, and ability to work under stress.
• Physical requirements: visual acuity, hearing, and physical mobility to lift, reach, bend, and transport supplies.
• Support a positive work environment, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to departmental needs.
