Laboratory Assistant (Pre-Analytical)

About the role

The Lab Assistant (Pre-Analytical Assistant I) provides essential support within the Technical Operations Department, ensuring efficient specimen handling and processing to maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand job duties, supporting specimen sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage processes.
• Identify and resolve issues related to specimen types and missing information, escalating as needed.
• Ensure compliance with test ordering policies by researching and verifying information in computer systems.
• Maintain quality and productivity standards, complete documentation accurately, and support team performance.
• Support additional functions within Tech Ops, demonstrating readiness for progression.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience in a production environment and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Minimal data entry skills essential.
• Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and ability to follow procedures.
