Laboratory Assistant-Cytology

Responsibilities

• Reports to the department Lead Technologists and Manager, Pathology.
• Perform various clerical, technical, and related duties primarily within the Cytology section of the Pathology Laboratory.
• Responsible for accessioning of cytology specimens in the LIS and performing procedures according to established policy for preparing specimens for microscopic examination, including specimen processing and staining.
• Affirmative action statement required upon hire.

Requirements

• Successful completion of High School or equivalency required.
• Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Up to and including one year experience.
• Combination of education and experience as a microbiology specimen processor/lab assistant equivalent for at least 6 months accepted.
• Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Pay

Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience. Pay Range USD $21.94 - USD $28.82 /Hr.

Schedule

Per Diem Shift: Day/Evening shift, 5:00pm - 9:30pm
