This position is located at Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga, Fresno County. Main communication will be through email.

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, the Laboratory Assistant performs standardized non-technical laboratory procedures in collecting and processing laboratory specimens, materials, and supplies. Assists in operating specialized laboratory equipment while complying with all applicable State and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies. Maintains order, supervises the conduct of the incarcerated, and protects the safety of persons and property.

Schedule

This is a part-time position working 4 hours per week.

Pay

The monthly part-time salary range for this position is $338.30 to $454.50. Effective July 1, 2025, salaries will reflect a 3% base salary reduction under the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), with employees receiving 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Part-time and intermittent employees are subject to these conditions on a prorated basis.
