Duties
- Performs standardized non-technical laboratory procedures in collecting and processing laboratory specimens, materials, and supplies.
- Assists in operating specialized laboratory equipment.
- Complies with all applicable State and federal laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the laboratory.
- Maintains order, supervises the conduct of the incarcerated, and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.
Qualifications
- Positions performing phlebotomy duties must possess a valid California State license/certification as a phlebotomist issued by the California Department of Public Health or equivalent license/certification which meets the legal requirements to practice phlebotomy in California.
- Six months of experience in laboratory work similar to that described in Definition of Levels above.
- Either:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of a formalized laboratory work experience and training program of at least three months.
Pay
Salaries do not reflect the recent changes due to the implementation of the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).
