Laboratory Assistant Certified - Lab AdminGeneral - Part Time

Responsibilities

• Maintains and distributes laboratory supplies.
• Ensures all equipment is functioning correctly or schedules repairs/replacements.
• Orders, receives, stocks, ships, and tracks laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Maintains inventory of all consumables and reagents.
• Assists in arranging the disposal of biohazard and chemical waste.
• Assists in enforcing laboratory policies and procedures.
• Enforces safety around personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Fulfills safety, infection control, security, compliance, and hazardous material protocols.

Requirements

• Associate of Science Degree preferred.
• Basic knowledge in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, and biochemistry related to infectious diseases required.
• One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or completion of a relevant certification program preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification or Phlebotomist Certification (ASCP, AMT, NPA, etc.) or equivalent required, with Louisiana state licensure.
