Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities
- Performs department specific waived and moderately complex testing under the direct supervision of a General Supervisor.
- Orders, processes, tests, issues, delivers, and discards products under the supervision of a General Supervisor.
- Responsible for the performance of routine computer operations including, but not limited to ordering laboratory tests, data input, and specimen receipt.
- Accurately identifies and labels specimens.
- Performs preventative maintenance, equipment maintenance, and daily temperature checks according to the section's procedural manual.
- Draws venous, arterial, capillary samples from patients according to phlebotomy procedures and age specific needs of the patient.
Requirements
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science.
Qualifications
Varied shifts (mainly daylight & evenings + 8 or 12 hour shifts available) & alternating on weekends.
Skills
Technical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain procedural quality standards.
