Laboratory assistant

Position Summary

Aid in order and supplies fulfillment, manage accounting and inventory data, maintain maintenance contracts, handle shipping/receiving, answer phones, and perform general lab duties.

Essential Functions

• Work in a laboratory environment that may contain chemical odors.
• Follow HSE laboratory safety standards.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations.
• Answer phones.
• Maintain multiple spreadsheets/data bases for accounting, mapping, and service contracts.
• Inventory and order laboratory supplies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of related experience required.
• A valid driver’s license required.

Skills & Abilities

• Computer Skills: Strong background in MS Office applications.
• Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
• Work Ethic: Be dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible in the workplace. Display a sincere desire to provide service or assistance, follow instructions, and take responsibility for own actions. Show a commitment to doing the best job possible.

Physical Abilities

• Lift and carry 50 pounds in various packaging.

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety glasses, goggles, etc.
• Vision: Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception.
• Sense of Sound: 55 decibels, adult conversation.
• Sense of Smell: Able to detect odors.
