Laboratory Assistant
About the role
The Laboratory Assistant position at CHI St Alexius Bismarck involves collecting blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Key responsibilities include identifying patients, explaining procedures, performing venipunctures, and accurately labeling and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
Responsibilities
- Competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing
- Organize, distribute, and handle all incoming specimens
- Meticulously prepare and package specimens for external testing
- Serve as the primary support for lab operations
- Perform phlebotomy and CLIA waived and moderately complex laboratory testing, if qualified
- Maintain lab equipment, monitor and stock supply inventory, and exercise good judgment
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Lab Assistant Program certification (preferred)
- Phlebotomy program certificate (preferred)

Benefits
- Employment incentive of $5,000 for new hires meeting eligibility requirements
Pay
The posted compensation range is $17.10 - $23.19 /hour.
Schedule
72 hours per week, 6:00 - 18:30 or 18:00 - 6:30, rotating 6 on 8 off schedule.
