Laboratory Assistant

About the role

Provides operational support.

Responsibilities

• Record daily temperature for refrigerators, freezers, and incubators.
• Clean and maintain assigned equipment.
• Aliquot solutions.
• Assist in preparation of samples before processing.
• Organize sample storage.
• Receive and unpack supplies.
• Scan and file documents according to the laboratory protocols.
• Provide administrative assistance.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Adheres to the Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics’ Compliance Program.

Qualifications

Education: Required: HS or GED. Experience: Preferred: 1 year laboratory experience. Certification/Licenses/Registration: NA.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequently required to sit, stand, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk or hear, and utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard. Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
