About the Role

Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will perform molecular and cellular biology experiments which include PCR, reverse transcription, molecular cloning, tissue culture, splicing analysis, gel electrophoresis, Western blots, transfection, and microscopy. Direct mouse handling may be involved. Attention to details and good communication and organization skills are required. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments including PCR, reverse transcription, molecular cloning, tissue culture, splicing analysis, gel electrophoresis, Western blots, transfection, and microscopy.
  • Handle mice as required by the research protocols.
  • Maintain attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience or biological sciences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in quantitative skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
  • Ability to handle and perform routine molecular biology experiments.
  • Molecular and cell biology skills including cell culture, cloning, RT-PCR, etc.
