Laboratory Assistant 2

About the role

The Laboratory Assistant 2 position at Park Nicollet is seeking a Partner for Good to support the care and experience of patients and their families. This role provides a variety of laboratory services and serves as a resource for staff inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Provide specimen collection, client service, and reception desk duties.
• Order, schedule, and bill for laboratory testing.
• Perform phlebotomy, dispatching, and specimen processing tasks.
• Ensure proper specimen delivery and workflow management.
• Assist with specimen handling and processing questions from hospital and clinic staff.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles.
• Organizational skills with the ability to meet time-sensitive customer requests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a medical-related field or an applied science degree.
• One year hospital experience.
• ASCP certification for phlebotomy.
