Laboratory Assistant 2
About the role
The Laboratory Assistant 2 position at Park Nicollet is seeking a Partner for Good to support the care and experience of patients and their families. This role provides a variety of laboratory services and serves as a resource for staff inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Provide specimen collection, client service, and reception desk duties.
- Order, schedule, and bill for laboratory testing.
- Perform phlebotomy, dispatching, and specimen processing tasks.
- Ensure proper specimen delivery and workflow management.
- Assist with specimen handling and processing questions from hospital and clinic staff.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles.
- Organizational skills with the ability to meet time-sensitive customer requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a medical-related field or an applied science degree.
- One year hospital experience.
- ASCP certification for phlebotomy.
