About the role
Provide and document husbandry care for laboratory rodents, ensuring compliance with SOPs and animal welfare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Feed, water, clean cages, and maintain rodent colonies
- Sanitize animal rooms
- Monitor animal health and behavior
- Keep accurate records
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection
- Report illnesses or deaths promptly
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in animal care within 6 months of hire
- Must complete safety training
- Ability to work in environments with chemicals, noise, dust, and animals
- Physical effort includes standing, bending, lifting (30+ lbs), and repetitive movements
Qualifications
- Preferred: Associate degree and ALAT certification
- No prior work experience required
