A Day in the Life
As a Full-Time Analyst based in our Denver, CO Laboratory, you’ll step into the lab where every detail matters. You'll play a key role in prepping, handling, analyzing samples, keeping records accurate, and maintaining a clean laboratory to support on-time results everyday. You’ll collaborate with a strong team of committed professionals, contribute to meaningful scientific work, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze solvent extracts for semi-volatile organic pollutants by GC-MS analysis
- Review data and assemble reports
- Calibrate, maintain and repair instrument
- Prepare standards
- Maintain reagents and supplies inventory and order replacements
- Keep workstation clean and organized
- Mentor Lab Technicians and Analyst I’s
- Perform analyst's review of data and QC
- Review QA/QC criteria for batch acceptance
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and follow safe work practices
- Participate in instruments' preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
- Participate in focus teams to improve efficiency
- Be flexible in work schedule including overtime when needed
- React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company
- Compliance with our Quality Assurance Program and other policies
Requirements
- BA/BS in science
- 2+ years of GCMS experience in an environmental lab
- Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and a desire to work both as part of a team and independently
- Proficiency using analytical equipment including: balances, pipettes, bottle top dispensers, hot blocks, and volumetric/graduated glassware
- Experience with GC-MS analysis, preferably with Agilent hardware and software (Chemstation/MassHunter). Hands-on instrument maintenance experience is also highly desirable
- Ideal candidates have experience with Varian Archon Purge and Trap Autosamplers and/or Xylem/OI Analytical Sample Concentrators
- Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
- Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturday) and able to work overtime
- Well organized and have an attention to detail
- Able to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
Schedule
10:00am - 8:30pm Sunday - Wednesday. 4 - 10 hour shifts.
