About the role

The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct routine bacteriological analysis of drinking water samples in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts bacteriological analysis of drinking water samples
• Maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Performs instrument calibrations, method verifications, and quality control checks
• Prepares daily, monthly, and regulatory compliance reports
• Communicates with laboratory personnel, supervisors, and field staff
• Assists with wastewater sample analyses as needed
• Drives a City vehicle for business use

Requirements

• Valid Texas Drivers License
• Laboratory Analyst Certification within one year of employment
• Associates or 60 college hours from an accredited college or university in Science

Qualifications

• Knowledge of testing equipment and procedures
• Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including computers and applicable software
• Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Knowledge of basic math

Schedule

Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
