Laboratory Aide - Intern (SOM, Pediatric Stanley Neurovirology)

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Use basic science knowledge to learn techniques and methods of the lab.
• Perform laboratory tests and/or experiments following established procedures or protocols.
• Operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Develop a basic tracking database/spreadsheet based on study requirements utilizing Excel, Access, or similar software applications.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records, present data summaries, identify and resolve common problems, and use basic analytical skills to implement assigned projects.
• Use basic laboratory skills, processing, storing, labeling, and identifying study samples.
• Maintain and make minor adjustments to equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a high school diploma with some science coursework.
• Classified Title: Laboratory Aide
• Role/Level/Range: ACRO37.5/01/CA
• Starting Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.25 HRLY ($20.00 targeted; Commensurate w/experience)
• Employee group: Casual / On Call
• Schedule: M-F; days/times will vary
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
