Department: Lab Support – Lab Management
Pay range: $17.75+ per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, market and organizational factors.
Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

About the role
This position serves as a central coordinator in a multi-department environment, ensuring timely responses to client problems and questions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, routes, and answers incoming client requests to various individuals within assigned laboratories
- Provides formal responses to client requests via outgoing calls
- Assists with test adds
- Ensures all callers receive an appropriate response using company values, vision, and mission with a helpful and mature telephone presence
- Performs data entry and manages reagent storage, including signing for reagents upon delivery and organizing associated paperwork
- Performs problem-solving activities related to small size samples, accessioning, or thawed samples
- Gathers data to address specific problems
- Pulls samples for studies and acts as a problem solver for test adds from lab services
- Performs monthly tally of laboratory assays, reviews contents with Director or Department Head, and forwards report to Medical Administration
- Keeps one or more laboratory libraries up-to-date and prepares photocopies of pertinent data/articles for Unit Supervisors, laboratory staff, and others
- Handles incoming and outgoing clerical-type purchasing activities for assigned departments
- Retrieves and generates reports; may photocopy and bind documents for management
- Organizes and files TRFs for assigned laboratories
- Answers phones for one or more departments depending on the size of the assigned area
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- 1-3 years of office/laboratory experience
- Background in biological sciences preferred
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
- Must undergo regular Client Services training to stay proficient in responding to client inquiries
- Expected to increase knowledge of the laboratory environment, including sample processing, to better respond to client needs
Skills
- Computer skills (35+ wpm typing speed) and familiarity with word processing software
- Strong organizational skills
- Professional telephone skills
