Position Purpose

Build, review, analyze, develop, and deliver common ABS labor management tools and practices across all divisional retail stores for labor budgeting, scheduling, and results reporting. These tools will assist in meeting the company’s labor management goals and business initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

• Using newly developed corporate systems, provide weekly, store‑by‑store, department‑by‑department labor cost budgets for a period or quarter for all stores in the respective division on a regular basis.
• Work with the SVP of Operations to establish labor cost objectives for all AVPs and DMs, while maintaining or improving customer service and store conditions.
• Recommend new equipment, methods, and procedures at the store level that could considerably reduce labor expenses.
• Establish business requirements that create simple in‑store user functionality of the company’s selected labor management tool, Visual Labor Management (VLM).
• Build, specify, and configure the application setup to align with overall labor management business strategies.
• Review and analyze new system software releases of the VLM labor management applications for labor forecasting, department schedule writing, and labor management.
• Provide feedback to corporate Retail Engineering for future development requirements needed from the outside software vendor.
• Utilize engineered labor standards within the electronic work measurement software database called MOST to determine labor requirements for tasks and activities by job and department, populating the VLM databases.
• Use the TTM (Time Task Manager) tables from VLM to determine “Fixed & Variable” labor factors for reporting productivity performance and future labor cost budgets by week, store, and department.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining a central data repository for all divisional stores, including equipment quantities, types, physical characteristics (store sizes & fixture lengths), policies, and methods that affect labor hours at each location.
• Manage data distribution and refresh processes for new and existing locations, including interfaces for ongoing daily and weekly data feeds from POS, distribution centers, DSD, and Rx systems.
• Develop, test, and maintain a weekly/periodic Sales and Labor Tracking Tool for managing productivity and labor expenses at store, district, and division levels to aggregate company‑wide results.
• Partner with the corporate training department to provide training content, material guidelines, user documentation, and training strategies.
• Perform other productivity and cost‑control assignments as requested by senior management.
• Consult with DMs, Field Specialists, and Store Directors regarding unique facility circumstances, discrepancies in actual labor hours versus standards, potential costs of changes due to competition, remodels, combo or dual‑branded conversions, customer service levels, etc., while maintaining consistency across stores, districts, areas, and divisions.
