About the role

The Ohio Department of Taxation seeks a Labor Relations Officer 2 to join the Human Resources Division. This position leads investigations, assists in hearings, and collaborates with the HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into reported cases and complaints, develop interview questions, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Aid in grievance hearings, arbitrations, and mediations, providing administrative support.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on absence management, performance issues, and other factors affecting investigative decisions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records to support consistent and compliant labor relations practices.
  • Monitor trends, policy changes, and HR-related issues to ensure labor relations processes remain current and effective.

Requirements

  • 24 months of experience in collective bargaining, including labor relations and handling of grievances.
  • Completion of an undergraduate core program in human resources management or public/business administration with relevant coursework.
  • 12 months of experience as a Labor Relations Officer 1 (position number 63471).
  • Equivalent experience as per the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.
