Labor Relations Administrator

What You'll Do

• Plans & administers overall labor relations program for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS).
• Implements labor relations policy & procedures.
• Makes recommendations for discipline to the Assistant Chief Human Resources Officer based on department administrative investigations.
• Serves as liaison between Division Directors, ODPS Director, and/or other leadership staff regarding labor relations matters, including HR laws, policies & procedures.
• Maintains awareness of and responds to all Step 3 grievance proceedings, mediations, or requests for disciplinary action.

Qualifications

• Option 1: 4+ years of experience in collective bargaining, including contract administration & management representation with regard to grievances &/or negotiated agreements.
• Option 2: Completion of an undergraduate core program in human resources management AND 2 years of experience in labor relations/collective bargaining, which included contract administration & management representation with regard to grievances &/or negotiated agreements.
• Option 3: 2 years of experience as a Labor Relations Officer 2, 63472.
• Option 4: 1 year of experience as a Labor Relations Officer 3, 63473.
• Equivalent of the minimum class qualifications noted above.
