About the role
Take ownership of an established employment law practice and shape its future direction. This on-site role in Annapolis, MD offers a clear pathway to leadership, significant earning potential, and the opportunity to recruit, mentor, and develop attorneys and staff while growing a scalable practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel regarding discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, employee benefits, and related employment law matters.
- Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, mediation, depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance agreements, restrictive covenants, and related employment documents.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Advise employers regarding compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Lead business development efforts and cultivate client relationships.
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
- Collaborate across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Participate in community and professional organizations to expand the firm's presence.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active Maryland Bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum 5+ years of Labor & Employment Law experience with a strong litigation focus.
- Experience handling employment litigation matters, including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage & hour claims.
- Strong background advising employers on federal, state, and local employment law compliance.
- Experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and severance agreements.
- Working knowledge of EEOC and NLRB regulations.
- Proven ability to develop business, cultivate client relationships, and contribute to practice growth.
- Prior management or mentoring experience preferred.
- Portable book of business welcomed but not required.

Pay
$175,000 - $300,000 per year
