About the role
These opportunities are focused on California labor and employment law, employer-side litigation, advice and counsel, workplace counseling, administrative matters, class actions, single-plaintiff employment litigation, and high-stakes employee disputes. Candidates must be licensed in California with relevant experience in labor and employment litigation or counseling.
Responsibilities
- Focus on 3-7 years California labor and employment law; employer-side advice and counsel; high-stakes employment litigation; administrative matters; class/collective actions and single-plaintiff cases.
- Defend employers in 3-7 years post-bar California employment defense litigation; defense-side only; day-to-day case ownership across single-plaintiff employment matters, PAGA, and class actions; discovery, motion practice, depositions, case management, arbitration/trial prep, client counseling, and strategy work with partners/clients.
- Manage 1-7 years California litigation experience; management-side L&E interest; research and writing; motions, briefs, legal arguments; wage-and-hour, class/PAGA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employer counseling, contracts, severance agreements, handbooks, workplace policies, administrative proceedings, depositions.
- Develop 8+ years employment law defense with significant PAGA, class action, compliance, and wage/hour audit expertise; PAGA litigation strategy, legal filings, settlement/trial representation, discovery, depositions, compliance counseling, labor law audits, wage/hour policies, employee classification, meal/rest compliance, client relationship.
Requirements
- Licensed in California
- Experience in labor and employment litigation or counseling
- Comfortable advising or defending employers
- Strong writing, analytical, and client-facing skills
- Interest in California workplace law and employment disputes
