Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordinating care with other health team members.
Responsibilities
- Achieve appropriate physical, social, and psychological assessments of patients.
- Elicit and evaluate information from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patients, families, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, and others.
- Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care, involving patient, family, team, and physician input, and prepare patients for additional support needs after the current episode of care is completed.
- Direct interdisciplinary care teams through delegation, coordination, and collaboration, ensuring care is provided according to the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revising the plan of care as necessary and reassessing changes as required.
- Promote the nursing profession and contribute to the development of others, adhering to legal and ethical standards, complying with regulatory standards, practicing within the scope of licensure, providing accurate and timely documentation, and understanding the legal implications of care delivery.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or willing to obtain within four (4) years of hire date.
- One or more years of RN work experience, preferably in labor and delivery (L&D).

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $35.22 - $53.29.
Schedule
Full-time 36 hours per week, nights.
