Surgical Technologist Roles and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency to perform proper specimen collection
• Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to maintain sterile technique
• Competency to provide equipment and supplies based on patient needs
• Active interest in increasing clinical understanding and abilities
• Demonstrates the ability to utilize proper instrument sterilization techniques
• Maintains a safe environment and follows established safety measures
• Maintains accurate counts of supplies and instruments used during the case

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Equivalent) or Higher
• Successful Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
• Holds current certification as Certified Surgical Tech established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Valid BLS upon hire
• CPI required within 90 days of hire
