Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain automated analyzers (e.g., Stago STA-R Evolution, Sysmex CS-2500, Chrono-Log aggregometers) and manual testing platforms.
• Troubleshoot instrument errors, perform quality control, and investigate discrepant results.
• Process and accession specimens, ensuring proper handling and storage for coagulation testing.
• Review and release patient results in the laboratory information system (LIS), adhering to turnaround time goals.
• Participate in proficiency testing, competency assessments, and laboratory inspections (CAP, CLIA).
• Assist in training new technologists and students, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Rotate through day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed to support 24/7 operations.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification required; specialty certification in Hemostasis (H) preferred.
• For Lab Technologist I: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, preferably in coagulation/hemostasis.
• For Lab Technologist II: Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-complexity coagulation laboratory, with demonstrated expertise in specialized testing.
• Proficiency in operating coagulation analyzers and performing manual techniques (e.g., factor assays, platelet aggregation).
• Strong understanding of hemostasis physiology, coagulation pathways, and laboratory quality control.
