Location (Primary Location for Job Responsibilities)
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Performs independent research in the field of study. Provides technical support for research activities. Responsible for supervising undergraduate students engaged in research.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engages in research activity: design and perform experiments, record and analyze data
- Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts
- Supervises undergraduate research projects
- Affords assistance with laboratory maintenance and organization
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the area of study
- Experience: One (1) year relevant experience doing independent research in area of study
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Training and supervising undergraduate students
- Experience: Writing and preparing scientific manuscripts
Abilities
- Knowledge: Knowledge of scientific principles, laboratory safety practices, laboratory terminology, equipment, materials, and procedures and laboratory methods relating to area of research
- Skills: Responsible and professional, excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
- Abilities: Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, Adobe and/or Corel Graphics, other field related programs)
- Abilities: Strong attention to detail and follow up skills, strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
