About the role

A detail-oriented, passionate, and dynamic individual is needed to join our post-launch quality team. You’ll play a pivotal role in product and data analysis to determine reasons for returns, leveraging learnings to provide feedback through direct administrative, analytic, and physical interaction with consumer products. This includes reading and understanding instructions, protocols, and industry standards; using lab equipment (scales, variac, power analyzers, etc.); and performing physical tasks such as standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, holding, and lifting at varying frequencies throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect returned products according to quality and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and fix sustaining production test issues escalated from Repair Technicians and report to Quality Engineers.
  • Perform basic teardowns of returned consumer products and document workflow followed.
  • Report quality anomalies to cross-functional teams for review.
  • View the entire consumer experience at a macro level to identify experience detractors and track product performance; communicate key learnings and developments to appropriate workflows for action.
  • Manage product health reporting and push for continuous five-star experience via iterative design improvements.
  • Strive for process efficiency—we value a go-getter who can maximize impact in any situation.
  • Present status of activities and special projects to management regularly.
  • Perform other duties as needed, including warehouse/workstation/facility/common area maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a Technical Area or Vocational/Trade school certificate.
  • Ability to perform analysis to determine root cause of issues and offer creative solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team in an environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Resourceful, well-organized, highly dependable, efficient, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to use general-purpose tools for repair, maintenance, or new construction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in mechanical engineering, quality, product development, human factors engineering, or a related field, preferably at a consumer goods company.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as multimeters, digital scales, pressure gauges, etc.
  • General background in principles of electrical and mechanical function and application.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, squat, twist, push, pull, reach, and lift for varied amounts of time and multiple times per workday (frequency ranges from 18 to 60 times per day depending on testing).
  • Engage in push/pull activities requiring up to 35+ pounds of force repetitively over an 8-hour workday.
  • Ability to lift/hold up to 25+ pounds in various body positions (lower, middle, higher) for varied periods (frequency ranges from 18 to 60 times per day).
  • Ability to perform team lifts for heavier, larger, or awkward objects.

Pay

Annual salary range: $62,100—$72,500 USD.
