Lab Technician Part-Time (Per Diem)

Essential Job Functions

• Provide customer service support to assist sponsors in meeting the needs of the sponsors and learners during human cadaveric specimen and animal specimen training labs
• Aid in the preparation of lab spaces for medical training courses with proper instrumentation, equipment, and tissue as directed
• Ensure proper setup and operation of any equipment required for lab events as directed
• Operate various lab equipment such as C-arm x-ray during course delivery as directed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and instrumentation used in lab training
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: No prior clinical/lab work experience required but some familiarity with surgical/operating room environment preferred
• Skills: Ability to read and understand documents, write routine reports and correspondence, communicate effectively, perform basic arithmetic, follow instructions, lift and move up to 100 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks

Physical Requirements

• Highly repetitive type work which requires the concentrated and non-diversified physical demands of the employee
• Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus

Schedule/Compensation/Benefits

• This is an as-needed (Per Diem) position with no set work schedule. Scheduling is determined by your availability to work with us and the needs of the department for on-site labs.
• Your availability to work when needed is key to success in this role. Normal operation hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, but there may be some scheduling outside of these times including mornings, evenings, weekends.
• Starting pay rate is $15/hr. There are no included benefits such as healthcare as this is considered part-time and temporary.
