Lab Technician, Part Time

Responsibilities

• Conducting laboratory activities as outlined in the laboratory’s quality management system (QMS).
• Conducting testing to industry standards such as UL, CSA, ASTM, SAE, and ISO, as well as analyzing results.
• Communicating nonconformities to laboratory management.
• Accurately maintaining laboratory documentation.
• Assisting in coordinating sample collection, equipment calibration, and maintenance activities.
• Reviewing production schedule and issuing sample tags for products required for automotive PPAP’s.
• Inspecting the adequacy of incoming samples for required testing.
• Entering project and test data into the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
• Interpreting industry standards, specifications, and test procedures.
• Inspecting test equipment for functionality and valid calibration dates prior to testing activities.
• Conducting assigned testing as outlined in the associated laboratory work instructions, test procedures, specifications, and industry standards.
• Accurately, clearly, and impartially reporting and analyzing test results in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Assisting with maintaining inventory for consumable materials, supplies, and reagents.
• Assisting with troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating services, as necessary.
• Assisting with documenting equipment, calibration, service, and preventative maintenance records.
• Performing other special projects or duties as required by laboratory management.
