LAB TECHNICIAN - IVC (Dalton, Georgia, United States, 30721)

Primary Objective

Creates new design proofs and prototypes by operating tools and equipment in the lab and on the production floor.

Major Function and Scope

• Responsible for making proofs and prototypes of the highest standard with great care for detail so they can be shared with internal and external customers.
• LABELS AND ORGANIZES ALL THE SAMPLES AND FILMS MADE DURING THE PROCESS (FROM START TO FINISHED PRODUCT).
• ORGANIZES AND CONTROLS THE RAW MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE PROTOTYPING PROCESS THROUGH STOCK TAKE, ALIGNING WITH LAB COORDINATOR AND OTHER PRODUCTION DEPARTMENTS.
• AID IN PRODUCT REVIEWS BY UNBOXING MATERIAL AND LAYING IT OUT FOR DISPLAY. DOES A FIRST CHECK OF THE MATERIAL BEFORE REVIEW. AFTER REVIEW SESSIONS LABELS, COLLECTS AND DISTRIBUTES APPROVED MATERIAL AND CORRECTLY DISCARDS UNUSED MATERIAL.
• KEEPS LAB AND SHARED PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
• MAINTAINS A CLEAN AND EFFICIENT WORK ENVIRONMENT.
• PROACTIVELY SUGGESTS IMPROVEMENTS THAT INCREASE EFFICIENCY, QUALITY AND SAFETY IN THE PROCESSES/TASKS THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM.
• SAFELY OPERATES EQUIPMENT SUCH AS BOX CUTTERS, PANEL CUTTER, LAMINATOR, HOT PRESS, OVENS, SPRAY BOOTH, INK DISPENSERS, CRANES, PROOFING MACHINES, PALLET JACK & FORKLIFT.
• RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL SAFETY, PARTICIPATES AND COMPLIES WITH SITE’S SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
• PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY SUPERVISION

Type of Experience and Knowledge

• High school diploma or greater
• Min. 3 years experience working in manufacturing environment
• Min. 3 years experience in the graphics industry preferred (example: working with colors, inks, prints or print equipment)
• LTO – Lift truck operator certification (or willingness to certify on the job)
• Overhead crane operator certification (or willingness to certify on the job)

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information

• Able to lift and move around boxes with flooring products (up to 50lbs)
• Able to perform 8-to-12-hour shifts
