Lab Technician in North Houston TX

About the role

Kelly Science and Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Lab Technician position at a foam manufacturing facility in North Houston. The overall responsibility of the position is to perform analyses of foam based products for quality control and product development purposes.

Responsibilities

• Performing analyses to assess foam properties including density, flexibility, and rigidity
• Operating, calibrating, and maintaining lab equipment including R Value, tensile, closed Cell Content and density water displacement
• Preparing foam samples for testing, including making various sizes of samples by hand
• Inspecting foam products for defects and ensuring they meet established quality standards
• Recording test results in a laboratory notebook or database
• Communicating findings and recommendations to researchers, chemists, and other stakeholders
• Maintaining and replenishing supplies, chemicals, and equipment in the lab

Qualifications

• AS/BS in Chemistry or Biology preferred
• 2+ years of industry lab experience in a QC or R&D lab environment
• Ability to learn and become proficient performing required analyses
• Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and stand on your feet for most of the shift
• Willing to assist in any job that arises to get projects completed on time
• Ability to work some overtime as needed for business purposes
• Computer skills with Microsoft Suite

Pay and Schedule

This is a temp to hire position with a Monday-Friday, 6am-3pm, work schedule and a pay rate of $25 per hour.
