Lab Technician I - seasonal opportunity!

About the role

This is a temporary, seasonal opportunity for a 90-day role at our City of Industry, CA laboratory. The Lab Technician will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS’s analytical SOPs, working independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets while ensuring hold times and turnaround times are met. Safe laboratory practices and a safe working environment are prioritized.

Responsibilities

• After appropriate training, independently receive, log, or prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’s analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• Assist with validation and MDL studies as needed.
• Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or prior experience working with one’s hands (Required).
• Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or a similar scientific discipline and 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred).
• Advanced English language skills (Required).
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required).
• Basic computer skills (Required).
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs on a frequent basis (Required).

Pay

$18–20 per hour, with eligibility for overtime.
