About the role
Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician dedicated to making a positive difference. The role supports Vitalant's life-saving mission by operating within the laboratory handling responsibilities that include component production, labeling, record reviewing and data entry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
- Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
- Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements.
- Conduct labeling for routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.
- Maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality.
- Handle and operate laboratory equipment with basic keyboarding skills.
- Work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
Requirements
- High School or GED required.
- No experience required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Must be able to maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality.
- Must possess basic keyboarding skills and the ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.

Pay
- Base Hourly Rate: 21.00 - 21.63 DOE.
- 3rd Shift Differential: 14%.
- Weekend Shift Differential: 8%.
Schedule
- Shift: Thurs-Mon 12:00 am - 8:30 am.
- Work Shift (if Applicable): Shift 3 (United States of America).
