About the role
The LAB Technician I position involves performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. This role also includes communicating with various stakeholders such as project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports.
- Communicate findings and results to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
- Undergo training and assume progressively increased roles of responsibility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months experience required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
- Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Successfully complete related internal safety certifications.
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report writing.
