Responsibilities
- Perform all microbiological testing of in-process and finished medical devices.
- Perform all microbiological tests associated with method development and validation.
- Perform growth promotion and purity tests on all microbiological media to be used for testing.
- Read plates and enumerate microorganisms.
- Identify microorganisms through culturing, isolating, and maintaining them.
- Document and review raw and final data to ensure proper documentation according to procedures and cGMPs.
- Notify Microbiology Laboratory Manager of out-of-specification (OOS) results.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, notify manager of issues.
- Enter microbiological data into relevant laboratory documents.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the Microbiology Laboratory.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment temperatures.
- Assist with ordering and managing laboratory supplies.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, safety guidelines, and cGMPs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field with 0 - 2 years of experience in a QC laboratory environment.
- Ability to understand and follow all applicable standard operating procedures and cGMPs/cGLPs.
- Good aseptic technique experience.
- Proficiency in using current word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Experience operating standard and advanced laboratory instrumentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
