Lab Technician - Entry Level

Job Description

Responsible for supporting the commercial development and sustenance of medical devices through a variety of laboratory activities. Includes testing in accordance with internal as well as established harmonized standards, lab maintenance, documentation generation and maintenance, and preparation of test samples and prototypes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operates lab equipment and tools for sample preparation, testing and prototyping
• Creates protocols, executes testing and writes reports
• Handles/uses basic lab chemicals/reagents as needed
• Affords assistance with the removal and disposal of waste chemicals
• Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
• Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Must follow all client housekeeping policies and procedures
• Must follow all client safety policies and procedures
• Must be able to work overtime as required to meet client business requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum Education/Experience: High school degree with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 1 year laboratory experience, AS degree in a scientific discipline with 1 year laboratory experience, or BS degree in a scientific discipline
• Basic Skills: Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills, must be detail-oriented, strong time management skills required
• Proficient/Working Skills: Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic, proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is required
